The BEST! Very fresh ingredients, tons of coffee options & vegan options. Pickup is very easily accessible as well, we have been picking up a sandwich and then packing it on our hikes. I could eat here every day :)
These Mainers know how to make food. Really fresh ingredients, quality bread, good coffee....and Mother's Kitchen does it all at a reasonable price. Sitting outside on a nice October morning (I don't think there's indoor seating) it's a great way to start your exploration of Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. But a sandwich to go and you're all set for the day.
Love love love this place! I’m a local, and finally visited after many years. Appreciate the vegan options, although only one was available on my visit (tip: go early - they sell out.) I ordered the Empress as a salad since I’m gluten free and the GF bread is not vegan. Super yummy. Deleted with smiles, eco-conscious packaging, and a beautiful setting for an outdoor lunch.
Probably a good thing they don’t have punch cards, or some other local perk option, because I’d be coming here too often :P
What a gem! I discovered this establishment on my way to Acadia National Park on the first morning of my four-day visit to the area and fell in love with it immediately. I'm one of those people who loves a big breakfast before an all-day hike and this place delivered the goods. Can't recommend the bacon, egg, and cheese on sourdough emphatically enough. But if you don't get their day's bundt then you're missing out.
Decided to stop here after reading several great reviews. Decided to go with the Bacon, Egg and dill cheese on Rye with a Maple Iced Coffee. It was incredible! Everything was cooked to perfection. The bacon was delicious! If you like Dill, you have to try the Dill Cheese. The maple in the coffee was subtle and added the right about of sweetness. Price was reasonable and the options were plentiful. I’d recommend stopping here for breakfast before exploring the rest of Maine!
My only negative review is that I wish there was another MK in bar harbor!! All the vegan pastries and sandwiches are amazing, I haven’t even tried them all so I know I’ll be back. The price is very reasonable for bar harbor, if not, more affordable than sandwiches and coffees in downtown. The ingredients are fresh and people are nice. I have been obsessed with the maple oat lattes. THANK YOU for including vegan options in your menu!! And thank you to the sweet wonderful human who decorated my takeout bag with my name and flowers 🥰 made my day
Our car broke down in their parking lot and while I was off dealing with a new rental the owner was overly generous in looking after my wife and infant not only during business hours but coming back to check on them even after the business was closed. I will forever be grateful. We’ve been back since for breakfast and coffee and we’re equally as impressed. Do not hesitate to go.
Really cool coffee/food stop on the way in/out of Bar Harbor. Stumbled upon the stop because of its very large yellow tent and the small flower garden.
The staff was very friendly, and they will bring over whatever food you ordered in the front. The latte tasted smooth and nitro was foamy. Definitely a very cool place to stop over on a long drive to Maine.
